Christian youth with global awareness but desiring theological depth
The Affinity Working Group has organized a series of meetings that combine in-person and virtual formats to engage young ministers in conversations about justice, theology, and youth ministry. The first meeting in July was completely virtual, focused on reflection questions about how young people perceive justice and the relationship between theology and biblical justice. The second meeting, in August, took place in-person at Aliento de Vida Church in Garner, North Carolina, with two of the young people from Florida participating virtually. The remaining meetings, which included brainstorming sessions in October and observation activities in November, were planned to be completely virtual, demonstrating the group’s flexible approach to facilitating meaningful discussions about youth ministry regardless of geographic location. The final meetings will take place in January and February of 2026. Attendance at each meeting has been excellent, and the dynamics of the discussions have been very enriching. The young people have commented that these discussions have significantly impacted their ministries.
