Rest, Renewal, and Revival: Sustaining Youth Ministry Leaders in Greater Vancouver
2025-26: Youth ministry can be exhausting because of heavy program planning, interpersonal demands, and the emotional toll of supporting young people in a rapidly changing urban environment. 10–15 youth fellowship leaders from three to five local Chinese Canadian churches will come together for rest, shared learning, and collaborative ministry opportunities. The local gatherings include a one-day retreat for rest and spiritual renewal, a one-day peer learning gathering to share experiences and strengthen mutual support, and a collaborative service initiative to design a youth revival meeting for churches across the region. These gatherings will help leaders explore their vocation, assess their ministry contexts, and deepen their capacity for sustainable ministry. The ultimate goal is to cultivate healthier, better-supported youth leaders who can serve with renewed vision and resilience.
The new HUB Local Gatherings initiative supports the coordination of neighborhood or citywide gatherings by a network member to connect with other Christian leaders around a topic of inquiry, encouragement, and support related to ministry in the city. The gatherings are topical, contextual, and consider sustained engagement between or beyond the meetings themselves.
