Ministry in the City HUB Update, March 2026

Dear HUB friends,

Spring is upon us, and we hope for no more surprise blizzards!

We began this month with the HUB Regional Gathering : Toronto on March 5-6, 2026, hosted by the Toronto Chinese Mennonite Church. We gathered about a dozen or so pastors and ministry leaders from Winnipeg and greater Toronto with artists from the Creative Community Care (CCC) exhibit and HUB staff for a wonderful time to tell stories, make art, pray on the streets of Woodbine, Toronto, and build community. We also celebrated the opening of the CCC exhibit at the church from March 6-22, 2026. Church and community members participated in art workshops and activated the exhibit, catalyzing opportunities for reflection and conversation around creative ways to care for those in our midst.

We closed with our bi-monthly online Food and Fellowship on March 26 led by HUB staff Rex Agyemang. HUB grantee Sarah Gautier, a pastor from Living Stones Church in Boston, shared about a card deck she has developed to foster meaningful reflection and conversations around vocation and ministry.

We’ve announced a few exciting opportunities with upcoming deadlines to pay attention to:
- HUB Summer Camp (June 15-18) - Apply by April 1, 2026
- HUB Affinity Working Group grants - Apply by April 29, 2026
- HUB Local Gathering grants - Apply by April 29, 2026

Please note we are hosting two information sessions for the grant opportunities this month. These are invitational grants for those already in the HUB network so please do not forward on to others and do not send a representative from your organization. Thank you for your help and understanding. If you missed an information session and have a question, please reach out to mitchub@cityseminaryny.org to ask your question or make an appointment to speak to one of us.

Design Code Card Deck
RESOURCE SHARING
Sarah Gautier has been developing Design Code Card Deck to facilitate conversations around discerning one’s vocation. She shared with other HUB members recently at our bi-monthly Food and Fellowship. The Deck was birthed in conversation with Latine leaders and is used in conjunction with conversation to help people discern their design so they can live their purpose both within ministry contexts and within the communities and networks where God has placed them. To learn more about this resource click here or contact Sarah for more information.
