Resource Highlight: Upcoming Opportunities

For this year’s HUB Summer Camp in NYC focused on cultivating learning in community, we invite interested HUB network members to apply to participate. This is for pastors, ministry leaders, youth workers, and artists-–we believe anyone involved in the HUB has some role in cultivating learning communities! We welcome those curious about creative facilitation, practitioners wanting to refresh their approach and try new things, and experienced educators who want to deepen their practice in community and learn from others. We encourage everyone to bring your ideas, experiences, and questions. More details below.

We’re also opening up two rounds of Affinity Working Group (AWG) and HUB Local Gathering (HLG) requests for proposals (RFPs) in 2026. Applications will be due respectively in April and November, and if you are a current grantee of a different category who has never had an AWG or HLG grant before, you are eligible to apply. Highlights
HUB Summer Camp: Cultivating Learning in Community
Join us for a 3.5-day “summer camp” on cultivating learning in ministry contexts—from traditional seminary and Bible Institute settings to community organizations and art-based creative spaces. With CSNY’s home in Harlem and New York City as our campus, we’ll explore theological education as formation, practice embodied and place-based teaching methods, and develop resources you can take back to your context.

Lodging and food are provided, with a modest stipend, in recognition of time dedicated to this experience. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Space is limited, so please apply by April 1.

Affinity Working Groups (AWG)
The Affinity Working Groups initiative of the Ministry in the City HUB invites proposals for the formation of small groups (ideally 4-8) of Christian leaders to connect together around a topic of inquiry, encouragement, and support related to ministry in the city for up to a year. Group members can be from the same city or from different North American cities. Grant requests are for up to $20,000.

For 2026-27, Affinity Working Groups (AWGs) will focus on the following categories: Youth, Family, and Intergenerational Engagement; Vocation and Discernment; Growing and/or Sustaining New Ministries; Arts and Faith in the City; and Women and Leadership

HUB Local Gatherings (HLG)
The HUB Local Gatherings (HLG) initiative of the Ministry in the City HUB invites proposals for the coordination of neighborhood or citywide gatherings to connect Christian leaders around a topic of inquiry, encouragement, and support related to ministry in the city. We recognize ministry leaders are often so busy that they have little time or structure to gather and intentionally reflect on and learn from their practice, or connect with each other in their own cities.

The gatherings should ideally be topical, place-based, and consider sustained engagement between or beyond the meetings themselves (in the case that there is more than one gathering). Grant requests are for up to $10,000.
